Just finished these for cyra.. a memory game made out of bean bags.. lots of fun can be had with these.. for now we're just enjoying tossing them! This project is a great way to put all your scrap fabrics to use! here are short directions on how I did this..
you can download my shape template here : shape template
1. I had a small collection of scrap dwell fabrics, cut them in 5 inch squares. (It's easiest to do this using a rotary cutter, cutting mat and quilt ruler) if you use 15 shapes, you'll need 60 5" squares.
2. I cut shapes out of felt, you'll need two per shape.
3. next, sew the felt shape onto a square of fabric, carefully stitching around the edges.
4. then stitch together the two squares, one with the shape, the other just a plain piece of fabric, right sides together using a 1/4 inch seam, leave a small opening, about an inch so that you are able to turn the fabric inside out.
5. trim your corners, and turn your squares inside out.
6. press squares, fill with rice, dried beans.. I used old dried beans that I found in our pantry.
7. sew your opening closed.
now you're ready to play!

Great idea ... I love it ... thanks for sharing !!
