so I hope everyone had a sweet halloween.. first off.. i'd like to thank the holiday for introducing our 3 year old to candy.. and yes.. I'm one of those mothers that has managed to shy away from candy.. but my glory is all over now...
cyra was a cupcake..
a very sweet one, i might add
with a great smile...
daddy was a baker.. and our new little guy? how about a bag of flour
cyra played the part well..
and we had a great time.
yes.. I made both costumes..
for the cupcake.. which I made last year... I made the base first using Timtex.. an extra heavy stabilizer.. folded it like a fan and every 2 inches I stitched with my sewing machine. Then I attached it to a small laundry basket which I had cut the bottom out of.
The final step for the bottom was using a hot glue gun to attach the silver fabric..
for the top.. I started by stitching the white minky fabric to the bottom.. cut out holes for her arms and head.. then handstiched a lining in the inside.. that I was able to stuff like a pillow.. for the trim I used lace and ric rak.. and the sprinkles? pink felt.
I know these directions are a little spotty.. if you want to try making this.. email me questions.. I'm happy to help!
for the flour sac.. I stitched two tea towels and used my silhouette to print and cut the heat transfers..
so i think things have normalized as much as they possibly can with two little ones.. so i'll be blogging a bit more these next few weeks.. cyra turned three last week.. and I can't wait to share with you the details of her party!

Wow. These costumes are incredible! Can't wait to see the party.
