i recently reorganized our spices.. and had these sweet tins left over.. I held onto them.. thinking it would be a nice addition to Cyra's play kitchen.. when I saw this project I knew I had to do something similar..
so I found some sweet vintage labels on flickr.. resized them in photoshop and printed them on label paper..
20 mins later.. start to finish... cyra has a brand new, old toy.
To make them extra durable.. consider using clear packing tape to laminate them.. here are JPEGS of the label files. (please note.. these are not my original images.. so do not sell anything using these images.) hope you enjoy..
lemon
tomato paste
green beans
sirup
tomato
tomato II

Can not download the labels. Picture does not show up. How do I get copies of these labels.

Where do you get your label paper? Is there a specific brand you like? I love this idea and can't wait to try it! Thank you.

thanks shea! a commenter on Ohdedooh had the idea of using the labels just on wooden building blocks.. you may not have to buy new spices after all..

Popped over from ohdeedoh. These are fantastic. Our little one loves her play kitchen and these would be so fun to make for her. Now I just need to remember to purchase spices in tins. Great idea!

Followed the link from Odeedoh. These are beautiful and what a creative idea.
Now I just wish we had a color printer. We have an office quality one that does everything - but DH didn't notice that it wasn't also color. Boohoo!

Love this, so beautiful and precious. I wish I had more spices in cans just for this project - but I think I only have Keen's Mustard Seed and everything else is in a jar/bottle :(
